
Fredric R. Horowitz has been a full-time Arbitrator and Mediator in Santa Monica, California since 1989 specializing in public and private sector labor and employment disputes. He is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators having served as Southern California Regional Chair and member of the Board of Governors. He is Past Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Labor and Employment Law Section, Former Advisor and Executive Committee Member of the California State Bar Labor and Employment Law Section, Past President of the Orange County Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association, former Member of the Los Angeles City Employee Relations Board, and a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He has been named by Southern California Super Lawyers in 2008-2017 and a Top Attorney in Southern California by Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine in 2012-2017.
Mr. Horowitz is on the American Arbitration Association Employment and Labor Panels and serves on numerous permanent arbitration panels for union/management disputes in all segments of the public and private sectors, including many in the airline and entertainment industries. He serves on the NFL-NFLPA non-injury panel, the NHL-NHLPA salary arbitration panel, and was formerly MLB-MLBPA Panel Chair and salary arbitrator. He is a frequent speaker on alternative dispute resolution topics. He was Director of Human Resources and Corporate Counsel for HCC Industries, Inc. in Encino, California from 1984-1988 and Staff Attorney for the Air Line Pilots Association in Los Angeles, California from 1975-1984. He is a 1970 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and a 1975 graduate of the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
