Conference Description

The place to learn is where the teachers are among the first tier of labor arbitrators, the materials are complete, your questions are answered, and the instruction is practical so you can put the training to immediate use. At this two day conference, you will learn the important arbitral and legal principles, refine your advocacy skills, and be prompted to think about strategies in your own work.

The registration fee covers admission to all sessions, the workbook, and all breaks. We welcome you to Baltimore for practical training with a superb faculty.

Faculty

All of the faculty members are distinguished labor arbitrators with decades of experience. They are (in alphabetical order): Richard Adelman is a former NLRB attorney, and one of the longest serving labor arbitrators on the East Coast. Steve Befort is a law professor, former editor of the ABA Journal on Labor & Employment law and a prominent labor arbitrator. Walt De Treux practiced labor law and for the last 20 years has been a labor arbitrator, highly regarded by his peers and advocates. Howard Edelman is one of the top labor arbitrators in the country. Based in New York City, he is on several national panels. Rosemary Townley is also a distinguished labor arbitrator, based in New York, with a national practice. All are members of the National Academy of Arbitrators. They enjoy teaching.
