Conference Description

The place to learn is where the teachers are among the top tier of labor arbitrators, the materials are complete, your questions are answered, and the instruction is practical so you can put the training to immediate use.

At this conference, you will learn more about the legal and arbitral principles, refine your advocacy skills and be prompted to think about strategy in your own work.

The conference tuition includes admission to all sessions, the workbook, a continental breakfast, a deli box lunch and parking.

Faculty

In alphabetical order, they are: Richard Adelman (New York City) started his career at the NLRB and in private practice. For the past few decades he has been the arbitrator or umpire in several industries, including transit, education, utilities, and many more. Walt De Treux (Philadelphia) also practiced in labor law before becoming a labor arbitrator. He is among the top labor arbitrators in the country. Mike Falvo was with the Detroit Police Department, before moving over as an attorney in the city’s Corporation Counsel’s office. He one of Michigan’s most highly regarded labor arbitrators. For several years, he taught at Wayne State University. And Kathryn VanDagens is a prominent labor arbitrator in Michigan, after first practicing labor law and teaching at Michigan State University’s law school. She is on numerous panels in the public and private sector.

CLE/HRCI/SHRM Information

The number of credits for attorneys depends on the state. Most often it is 7.0 CLE credits. Please let us know on the registration form where you hold a license.

A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for conference attendees at a group rate.
