Every year, a rotating group of top labor arbitrators come together for a day of teaching and learning. They cover the topics and issues which labor and management have faced in the past year.

Faculty
The five faculty members are among the most distinguished labor arbitrators in the country. They are student-focused so you learn the material in a practical and dynamic way. In alphabetic order, they are Richard Adelman is based in New York City and sits on several panels. He was a teaching fellow at Stanford Law School and an attorney with the NLRB before joining the arbitrator ranks. Steve Befort is the umpire/arbitrator on several major panels and also teaches at the University of Minnesota Law School He is the former editor of the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law. Melissa Biren is a nationally-known labor arbitrator based in New York. Her prior work was as an advocate. She is an editor and writer of the best-selling book Discipline & Discharge in Arbitration. Walt De Treux is a distinguished labor arbitrator. His previous work was as a labor attorney. He sits on several panels throughout the public and private sectors. Jacquelin Drucker is a prominent labor arbitrator based in New York. She previously practiced law and served as general counsel for a state public labor relations agency. She is on the adjunct faculty at Cornell University in this subject area.

The Conference will be held at the Sheraton Hotel on 53rd Street (now part of the Marriott Hotels).
